Poetry Analysis of THE AUTHOR TO HER BOOK When I runner read the title of the poetry, the only thing that came to mind was that we were passing to read a poem astir(predicate) someone talking closely their sprightliness. I thought that it was divergence to describe their life and ab come forth compare it to a book. But after narration the firstborn line Thou ill-formed offspring of my worn out star , the image of a baby and a instinct came to mind , and I thought maybe the seed is overtaking to tell about her childhood as well. As I read to a greater extent of the poem I thought that the writer was more of a parent describing her child, but as I further my reading I realized that the author was vilifying him or herself and that she was angry with someone . Upon even further analysis, I came to the final that the poem was an analysis by the author of her book, she explained to the reader how her poems were purportedly taken without her kno wledge by friends to be published overseas. The poem is a huge extended metaphor that is being personified as a child, her own child. The child or offspring in this poem is really the book that was taken without permission.

She expresses the need or wants to stretch the feet of the child which is where she wishes to perfect the meter ,the flow and slightened mistakes in her poem before it was published by her friends less insolent then true. She repeatedly compares her book to her child, and talks about how she would never have her child in rags because it was not accurate or trended yet. As she talks about how she sees about her poem and how she is mortifi! ed and angry that she didnt get to edit her work , it sounds more like she is doubting her work. Her criticism shows how the elderly society in which she lived, could make a very dexterous women like herself feel like a tremendous self-doubt.
